Games All About the "Acting"? This summer, Chinese-made games, especially "Black Myth: Wukong," have exploded internationally. Its stunning, realistic special effects and scenes have captivated global audiences. So, how are these lifelike game characters created? Vorontsov Georgii (Chinese name: 乔治) from Shenzhen MSU-BIT University found the answer at Tencent's Motion Capture Studio in Shenzhen.
这一次,乔治摇身一变,虚拟角色上身。穿着装有传感器的紧身衣,乔治每一个动作,都被镜头捕捉后传导给电脑,这就对演员乔治也提出了很高的要求,必须具备极好的模仿能力。
This time, George transformed into a virtual character. Dressed in a sensor-laden suit, every move he made was captured by cameras and relayed to a computer. This also required high-level mimicry skills from George, as he had to emulate the Monkey King’s character with precision.

The motion capture facility at Tencent is a three-story-high, state-of-the-art studio. The man guiding George was Master Peiyou Yuan, head of Tencent's Motion Capture Studio. Here, advanced technology that integrates biology, mathematics, physics, computing, and art, brings game characters to life with more realistic movements and natural expressions.
